Answering Service Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 10, 2026
Eighth Avenue Digital, LLC ("Eighth Avenue," "we," "us") operates an AI-powered phone answering service for local businesses ("Client Businesses"). This policy explains what we collect when:
- you call a Client Business and our service answers the call, or
- a Client Business uses our service,
and how we use that information.
AI and call recording notice
Calls handled by our service are answered by an AI assistant and are recorded and transcribed. Every call opens with a greeting that says so. If you don't want to be recorded, you can hang up and contact the business another way.
Information we collect
From callers:
- Your phone number (caller ID)
- The call recording and a written transcript
- What you tell us during the call, such as your name, address, and the reason for your call
- Call details such as the date, time, duration, and the number you dialed
From Client Businesses and their staff:
- Contact names, phone numbers (including on-call numbers) and email addresses
- Business details such as hours, service area, and instructions for handling calls
How we use information
- To pass your message to the business you called, and to connect urgent calls to that business's on-call staff
- To send you a text confirmation, if you agreed to receive one during the call
- To send Client Businesses call summaries, urgent-call alerts, and activity reports
- To troubleshoot and improve call handling
- To comply with the law
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share information with
- The business you called. They receive your message, the call summary, and access to the recording and transcript
- Service providers that operate the service on our behalf: telephony and text messaging, voice AI, AI language models, hosting, database, and email delivery. They may use the information only to provide those services to us
- Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect someone's safety
- Business transfer. If operation of the service moves to an affiliated company or a successor, information transfers with it under this policy
Text messaging (SMS)
We send only service-related texts: call confirmations to callers who agree during the call, and notifications to Client Business contacts who have authorized them. We do not send marketing texts. See our SMS Terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.
How long we keep information
- Call recordings and transcripts: kept for 90 days, then deleted, unless the Client Business needs them longer to resolve a service issue
- Call summaries and contact details for Client Businesses: kept while the business uses the service
Your choices
- Texts: reply STOP to stop them
- Recordings and data about you: to ask about or delete a recording or other information from a call, contact us at mark@eighthavenue.digital. We'll coordinate with the business you called
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, and we limit access to the people and providers who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
